Pair of hand carved stone vessels defined by a striking structural detail - a natural mineral vein left deliberately raised as a ridge through the center of each form.
Rather than cutting through the stone evenly, the maker carved the surrounding material back to preserve this darker inclusion, allowing it to sit slightly proud of the surface. The result is a subtle but unmistakable ridge that catches light and creates a line of tension across each piece. It gives them a sense of movement and intention that goes well beyond a typical carved bowl.
Both pieces are shaped in an organic, asymmetrical manner, following the internal character of the stone rather than forcing a uniform form. The surface remains matte and tactile, with visible grain and natural variation throughout.
This is not just material on display, but material actively worked with. Each piece is unique, with natural variation in tone, grain, and mineral patterning.
