The rather square and restrained profile of the chairs is contrasted by the lyre represented on the splat, which incorporates thin metal rods as the strings of the instrument. Seats are currently upholstered in a heavyweight twill material of complementary faded brick tone that is in worn condition but acceptable to continue using. They are a natural seat height for dining, and generous in scale to incorporate as occasional chairs for a living room setting. Wood frames have been gently cleaned and polished with a French paste wax to maintain the natural luster.
