This sweet hand-blown mini pitcher — or creamer — comes from the storied Rainbow Art Glass Company of Huntington, West Virginia, and still wears its original oval paper label with pride.
Cast in a luminous cerulean blue, the piece features Rainbow’s signature free-formed ruffled rim, a gracefully pinched spout, and an applied loop handle with a classic curled terminal at the base. The body has a gentle hourglass silhouette that widens to a rounded foot — tactile, organic, unmistakably hand-made. Light passes through it like a clear afternoon sky.
Rainbow Art Glass began producing its own colorful hand-blown wares in 1954, and the company’s pieces became fixtures in gift shops and department stores across the country. The Huntington factory was lost to fire in 1983, making surviving labeled examples like this one a genuine piece of American craft history.
