This is an impressive 3 draw chest with deep carvings in rectangles on the drawer fronts and down the corner posts mostly ending in a stylized bell flowers. I'm not a wood or construction expert but I think this piece is made of oak and the construction involves round plugs of different sizes on the top edges (if you zoom in on the last photo you can see them.) and the drawers are connected with grooves instead of dovetails.
The back legs are decorated with molding but the outside piece on one foot is missing otherwise, I only see minor signs of age and use. The chest measures 49 inches wide, 19 inches deep, 18 inches wide and the drawers are all the same size and measure 36 inches wide and 7 inches high on the outside, 34.5 inches wide, 6.5 inches high and 20.5 inches deep on the inside.
