Elegant French Plat Bureau – Napoleon III Period
Splendid French Louis XV-style center desk dating back to the second half of the 19th century (Napoleon III era). This piece combines the sinuous forms of 18th-century French craftsmanship with the masterful craftsmanship of 19th-century Parisian cabinetmaking.
Main Features:
Materials and Inlay: Entirely veneered in rosewood with a refined parqueterie (geometric cube/diamond pattern) that creates an elegant interplay of light and grain across the entire surface of the top and sides.
Design: Wavy lines on all sides, typical of the rocaille style, with sleek cabriole legs.
Bronze Details: Enhanced with gilded and chiseled bronze applications on the top edges, on the "chutes" (leg backs) with floral and leaf motifs, and foot caps.
Features: Equipped with a front drawer hidden in the inlay, complete with a working key.
Condition: The piece is in excellent overall condition. The shellac polish enhances the warm tones of the wood, and the structure is solid.
Dimensions: 99 x 60 cm, height 77 cm.
