About The Poster: This poster celebrates a 50th anniversary exhibition held at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in 1977. The poster is an almost exact replica of the poster that was used by the museum in 1925 and was designed by Robert Bonfils (1886-1971). Simple and elegant, this poster is in excellent condition.
Of the 1925 World Fair: "This exhibition epitomized what came to be called decades later "Art Deco," a "modern" style characterized by a streamlined classicism, geometric and symmetric compositions, and a sleek machine-age look. The Exposition poster, by Robert Bonfils, imitating the look of a woodblock print, featured a modern athletic nymph and a racing gazelle." (Wikipedia)
The poster has a chip on the right bottom corner and mark on the top left. Please see pictures. Ready to frame !
