this armchair was designed by grete jalk and manufactured by france & søn in denmark in the early 1960s. It is a fully upholstered version within series 118, of which the original model with open back construction is documented in the france & søn catalogues. Whereas model 118 was originally executed with an open back featuring spindles and springs, this is a rare version with a continuous, upholstered high back. The armchair has a solid teak frame and is marked with the france & søn logo and “made in denmark”. Dimensions: 79 × 82 × 105 cm (w × d × h) and the seat height is 43 cm.
