Antique Victorian gentleman’s shaving stand in gilt metal, featuring an adjustable oval mirror above a fitted top with covered compartments and open wells for shaving or dressing accessories. The stand rests on a decorative cast base with scroll-form details and retains a beautifully aged gilt finish throughout.
A wonderful and unusual late 19th-century dressing-room piece, both functional and highly decorative. The oval mirror has a handsome presence, and the fitted top is especially charming, designed to hold small personal grooming items. The reverse of the mirror and the overall construction show the character and wear expected of an antique piece of this age.
