This is a really lovely vintage porcelain plate made in Czechoslovakia, most likely from the 1920s. You don't see the square shape with scalloped edges as often as round plates, which makes it a fun find.
Czechoslovakia was actually one of the best kept secrets in porcelain during this era — the Bohemian region (think: the area that was already famous for crystal and glassware) had been cranking out beautiful china since the 1700s, and after WWI the new country inherited all those incredible factories. A lot of it was exported to the US and Europe, and the quality rivals anything coming out of Germany or Austria at the time.
These are 80–100 years old at this point and the gold still looks great — just a natural aged patina, no chips or cracks.
