A vibrant and sculptural pair of realistic, hand-painted lemon-themed fruit bowls by Knobler, a premier maker of mid-century Japanese majolica.
Crafted in Japan during the 1960s, these "Trompe l’Oeil" pieces are renowned for their superior sculptural realism. Each bowl features a hyper-realistic, high-relief "pitted" zest exterior and a high-gloss canary yellow interior with raised white pith detailing and hand-painted "juice pips." These are quintessential examples of the whimsical yet sophisticated garden-themed serveware that defined the Hollywood Regency era.
