Artist Statement:

As a New York based documentary/portrait photographer of women I decided to create a series of unique series of black and white botanicals titled Gymnopédies. I have since segued into creating beautiful color images as well. The limited-edition series takes its name from a trio of piano compositions by 19th century French composer Erik Satie. Void of connotation, the unusual title freed Satie from stylistic constraints and gifted his audience a new experience of music. My Gymnopédies series encourage a similar foray in the realm of flower photography. Applying the art form of chiaroscuro, the dramatic application of light abstracts and anthropomorphizes, exposing some of nature’s more subversive personalities. These exquisite digital, fine art prints are innocent, sublime and incredibly erotic still lifes in motion. See less
