This Danish desk, designed by Chr. Rasmussen and manufactured by Randers Møbelfabrik, reflects the principles of mid-century modern Scandinavian design. Furniture from this workshop was mainly produced between the 1950s and 1970s, focusing on functionality, solid craftsmanship, and clean forms.
The desk is made of oak wood, which, although less common than teak, was also widely used in Danish furniture production, especially in pieces intended for long-term use. The structure is straightforward and stable, with a clearly defined frame and simple legs.
It features five drawers – three on the left and two on the right. The two upper drawers include original internal organizers, adding practical value. The metal handles are minimal and consistent with the design language of the period.
The overall form follows Scandinavian modernist principles: restrained, functional, and well-proportioned. This makes the desk suitable both as a workspace and as a subtle interior element.
Condition is good, with visible signs of use, mainly on the tabletop, consistent with age. The desk retains the original manufacturer’s mark.
