Chinese Cultural Revolution propaganda poster, "The Hai River Must Be Harnessed"
After a disastrous flood of the Hai River in August 1963, Mao visited the area to inspect the situation. On November 17 he created the calligraphy "We must bring the Hai River under permanent control” (一定要根治海河) to launch a massive flood control campaign.
Reproduction poster dated from the 1970's.
Nicely framed in matte, frame measures 28 1/2" x 31", poster measures 19" x 22"
