This is a vintage Indian water vessel, from the Rajasthan region. This handcrafted metal jugs was traditionally used to collect water from sacred rivers like the Ganges and Yamuna. It was hand-forged metal, Tin decorated with Mughal or Rajasthani-style art, featuring polychrome scenes or symbols. The central motif on your piece appears to be a shankha (conch shell), which is a sacred symbol in Indian tradition. Historically, these vessel used for collecting or storing water from sacred rivers. Overall this vessel is in very good vintage condition except a dent on the mouth of the vessel.
