The painting has the most seafarer tone of blue green melding with the sky, a nearly monochrome depiction of the boat at sea. Holst was a German artist known for his highly realistic paintings of ships in the open ocean. Capturing varying weather conditions, Holst’s detailed depictions of waves and clouds made his work highly sought after during his own lifetime. The artwork bears his signature and date, 1959 on the lower left side and is simply framed in silver metal. It is in good overall condition for its vintage usage. See less
