Retrieved from the Shanxi province in China, this altar table is made from solid elm, showcasing a striking natural grain and a luminous honey-toned finish. The rectangular top features subtle everted flanges and is supported by a classic recessed-leg structure. A gracefully shaped apron with integrated "giant's arm" braces provides both structural stability and visual elegance. The circular legs are reinforced by double side stretchers, reflecting the minimalist aesthetic and superior joinery of the late Ming period. This console table adds grace and class to a hallway, entranceway, living or dining room.
