This fabric is the epitome of mid century modern design. Acquired in the early 1970's, one owner since then. Extremely rare!!!
Produced by Knoll in 1967 and designed by Wolf Bauer, his "Collage" design textile panel made of heavy cotton velvet. The abstract image of a tree is screen printed in shades of brown with purple accents. This "collage" design was heavily influenced by the torn paper collages of Henri Matisse in the 1950s. Signed twice on the selvage "1967 copyright KNOLL INTERNATIONAL LTD. COLLAGE DESIGN BY WOLF BAUER."
This panel measures 93 inches x 20.5 inches (236.2 cm x 52 cm) with a narrow strip attached at one end.
There are some light tea colored stains as shown. I have not treated this in any way--comes to you AS IS. No loss of any of the velvet nap, colors are beautifully vibrant. Stored in a climate controlled environment, always in a smoke free home.
