Exciting form, kidney shaped with multiple horizontal levels, contrasting the vertical slats on tambour front doors. Night stands were made in the last quarter of 19th century, superb quality wood, mahogany satinwood and walnut and even better dore bronze mount, kind that only French master cabinetmakers can deliver. Tables stand on four straight Louis XVI reeded downward tapering legs, all connected with a mahogany stretcher plateau, which in addition to interior of the doors, and top provides ample storage space for all the bedtime essentials. Legs are capped on the bottom with museum quality bronze sabot mounts, and at the top they have Corinthian column tops, making them as stand-alone sight to behold. They are in overall good condition, showing light age / use wear, as they were recently refinished and polished (please see photos). Being totally hand made, they differ in height about an inch, commodes are 34.75" and 35.5" tall respectively, 21.5" wide, and 13.5" deep front to back. This pair of beauty queens will work as bed side tables, flanking a sofa, even in the office, will be a stunning addition to any traditional or mid-century modern setting! See less
