The composition unfolds as a calibrated dialogue of proportions: three conical forms of varying scale, each gently flaring upward. When grouped, they form a dynamic, almost architectural ensemble—like a translucent skyline, where rhythm and spacing become as important as the objects themselves. Executed in luminous aquamarine glass, each vase is defined by a continuous spiral lattice that wraps around the body with remarkable precision. As seen in the close-up images, the pattern oscillates between structure and fluidity: at times graphic and controlled, at others soft and atmospheric, almost textile-like. The layered lines generate a moiré effect that shifts with light, creating depth and movement within the glass. The rims are thin and subtly irregular, revealing the hand-finished nature of the pieces, while the color deepens toward the base into a more saturated blue, visually grounding each form and enhancing the sense of vertical flow. A particularly compelling detail is found in the underside: the bases retain a clearly visible swirling pontil mark, captured in the photographs. This vortex-like formation—created at the moment the piece is detached from the pontil rod—echoes the spiral rhythm of the surface decoration. It is both a technical trace and a poetic gesture, a signature of the hand-blown process that anchors the object in its making. Light plays a central role throughout. It glides along the curved surfaces, refracts through the layered pattern, and gathers within the glass, giving each vase a luminous, almost liquid presence. There is a continuous tension between control and spontaneity, precision and softness—qualities closely aligned with Gio Ponti’s sensitivity to surface, lightness, and form. Perfect as a cohesive sculptural group, yet equally powerful when displayed individually.
