On offer is a classic white marble vase hand-carved likely from either Carrara or Vermont marble. Both stones are known for a white base and soft gray cloud-like veining. The piece’s traditional "ginger jar" shape features a wide, rounded body with a slightly flared rim.
The shape originated in ancient China, as far back as the Qin Dynasty (221 BCE–207 BCE). These vessels were initially utilitarian, designed to store and transport essential provisions like salt, oil, herbs, and rare spices. But the universal elegance of form remains popular for modern stone décor as well as ceramics—fitting beautifully in both traditional and contemporary interiors.
