A refined French Art Deco desk sourced in Paris, dating to the 1930s. The piece is defined by its exceptional walnut burl top, carefully bookmatched across four panels to create a balanced and highly expressive grain pattern. The warm tonal variation and intricate figuring give the surface depth and movement, while remaining subtle and highly usable within a range of interiors. The desk features a classic pedestal form with gently rounded cabinet fronts set on a stepped plinth base, a hallmark of the Art Deco period. The burl top is set over a richly toned mahogany frame and casework, creating a layered contrast between the highly figured surface and the more structured architectural base. Drawer fronts and cabinet exteriors are veneered in figured walnut, complemented by original geometric hardware with a naturally aged patina. Structurally revised and refinished in our workshop, the desk is solid, stable, and ready for daily use. The interior retains a clean and functional layout with drawers and cabinet storage, executed in mahogany secondary wood. The proportions and presence make it well suited as an executive desk, writing table, or statement piece within both traditional and modern interiors.
