This handsome Mid-Century Danish Modern side/dining chair by Poul Volther for Frem Røjle showcases the refined simplicity and exceptional craftsmanship that defined Danish design in the 1970s. Crafted from solid oak with warm, natural grain, the chair features clean, tapered legs and a gently curved backrest that provides both support and visual lightness. The seat is newly upholstered in a rich green tweed fabric, offering a beautiful textural contrast to the wood while adding a touch of warmth and color.
Poul Volther (1923–2001) was a highly respected Danish designer known for his thoughtful, ergonomic approach and his ability to balance form and function. He is perhaps best remembered for the iconic Corona Chair (1964), but his dining and side chairs for manufacturers like Frem Røjle demonstrate the same attention to detail and comfort. Frem Røjle, based in Denmark, was a quality-oriented producer that collaborated with leading designers to create durable, elegant furniture for both residential and contract use.
Perfect as a dining chair, desk chair, or accent piece in a living room or study. Sold individually.
A quietly elegant example of 1970s Danish Modern design that remains as relevant and comfortable today as when it was first made.
