Late 19th-century Empire-style mahogany flat desk
The top is covered in light leather, gilt-trimmed around the edges.
The tops and bottoms of the legs are adorned with chased bronze rings.
The four legs are joined by a stretcher, giving the piece
sturdiness.
This desk can be placed in the center of a room; the back is cut out
so that two people can work facing each other.
The drawer interiors are made of solid oak with a warm, nuanced patina.
