Pair of antique oak barley twist dining chairs dating from the late victorian (c. 1880) edwardian (c. 1910–1920) eras. They feature the jacobean revival style, characterized by high backs with vertical slats (rails) and decorative carved top rails often depicting foliate or scroll motifs. The chairs are named for the distinctive spiral "barley twist" columns used for the back uprights and the front legs. Crafted from solid english oak, these chairs typically include drop-in seat pads, which are upholstered in tan leather.
