Elio Schiavon (1925-2004) was a renowned Italian ceramist.

His artistic career is characterized by a combination of traditional craftsmanship and ongoing research. After working as an apprentice, he opened his own kiln, Schiavon Ceramiche, in Padua in 1954, later moving it to Abano Terme in 1964.

He has won numerous Italian and international awards, including the Faenza Giovani Prize and recognition at the Venice Biennale.

The decorations on this container are hand-painted with vibrant colors and stylized landscape motifs.
