In the wave of modernity that swept through the 1940s and 50s, potters and ceramicists were not to be outdone! They invented and reinvented the forms of terracotta objects, playing with glaze compositions to achieve new colors and textures. This bowl-shaped vase is imbued with the Art Deco spirit. Its slender form is adorned with a raised, rope-like scroll, highlighted with gold against a soft blue background.
The vase is in good condition; the color is beautiful and the gilding is in good condition, with only a few minor scratches.
11.5 to 21 cm in diameter, 27.5 cm in height.
