This writing desk is an excellent example of 1930s czechoslovak art deco, produced by the renowned up závody rousínov. The furniture is constructed from high-quality, stable blockboard, veneered with premium walnut. The walnut grain, symmetrically arranged on the front surfaces and sides, provides the desk with a luxurious and representative character.
the design of the desk combines modern geometry with high functionality. The right side features a spacious storage cabinet, while the left side is supported by a slender leg, lending the piece an asymmetrical elegance and visual lightness. A very interesting detail is the lower chrome-plated steel footrest, which provides comfort and reinforces the overall structure. The desk is fitted with chrome-plated steel hardware and retains its original functional locks, highlighting the authenticity and craftsmanship of the up závody production era.
the item has undergone professional restoration, during which the original wood polish was sensitively revived. This process brought out the depth of the walnut veneer and restored its noble luster while preserving its historical value. This piece is an ideal centerpiece for a study or office and represents a lasting investment in top-tier interwar design.
it has been re-polished with polyutherane piano lacquer by our professional refurbishing team in czechia according to the original process.
