This handsome photogravure printed page is illustrated by P. Mahler, a German artist. The subject is a Reeves Pheasant need after the British naturalist John Reeves who brought the species from China to Europe in 1831.
This page is from a tattered 1907 French promotional advertising book found at a French country Marche au Puce. Included is the protective tissue with the French description.
