Qing Dynasty antique wooden pack saddle, not a riding saddle
Pack saddles were used to transport objects,food,supplies etc...
there are numverous cross pieces and rings to tie sacks etc
This saddle could have been used on a horse or mule...
The front of the saddle has deeply carved matching foo dogs.
Some areas of original black lacquer type paint still remain on the saddle...
