ARTIST BIO:
Jelly Chen is a Brooklyn, New York based visual artist creating paintings and collages. Originally from Austin, Texas, she studied sculpture at Texas State University. She travelled and lived abroad for 6 years teaching ESL in Hong Kong, Istanbul, Bali, and Shanghai. In addition to visiting over 30 countries, she met her husband whom she lived with in Shanghai before relocating to Brooklyn. Since becoming a New Yorker, she has focused on making paintings and raising a family. Her ebullient ‘Fresh Art’ is characterized by animals with personality, patterns, plants, and a carefree nature.
