This ornate mid-century square wood gold painted picture frame has a round opening for the artwork in the center. The frame measures 14.75 inches square and 2 inches deep with a 9-inch diameter round center for picture. It's wired on the back.
Very nice looking frame. There is a bit of paint loss on the tip of the decoration at front center bottom, which can be seen in the photos. Also, a small crack in the paint at one corner.
The back looks rough, mainly due to the frame having been used, but after artwork has been framed in it, this part would be covered anyway. It looks as though the back paper was peeled off. Also, there are some nails and/or staples of some kind still embedded in the back. I removed those that were sticking out more and could be easily taken out, but some others remain, so care should be taken in handling the frame to avoid injury.
Overall, this highly embellished vintage frame looks great, and it would fit in nicely with traditional and heritage decor styles.
