On its own it is a thoroughly compelling piece; as part of the full collection it creates a living room of real decorative ambition and rare cohesion.

The frame is built from bundled rattan poles — groups of parallel cylinders that give the arms, legs, and back rails their characteristic visual rhythm and structural strength. The arms curve gracefully at the outer corner with a circular rattan detail before descending to the seat, and each arm panel is filled with a diamond lattice of crossed rattan poles — the same motif repeated in the dining chairs. The back, seen from the rear, is an open structure of evenly spaced vertical slats, clean and finished, allowing the sofa to stand freely in a room.
Three seat and three back cushions in the matching large-scale tropical floral print — cream, sage, blush, seafoam — are in usable condition. The cushion frames are generous and well-padded. Reupholstery in solid linen, natural boucle, or any contemporary fabric would completely transform the sofa's mood while preserving the exceptional rattan frame. No maker's markings, consistent with quality American rattan producers of the era.
