A brilliantly executed mid-century abstract figurative painting that presents a seated female form, distilled into a series of softly interlocking shapes, painted in oil onto canvas and dated 1955.

The figure is poised yet introspective, her posture relaxed with one arm resting gently and the other drawn inward, suggesting a moment of stillness rather than performance. There is an intimacy to the composition: the subject feels both present and slightly withdrawn, as though caught between thought and repose.
