A calm mid-century composition that presents a serene, pared-back landscape where open fields stretch toward a low horizon line punctuated by a small cluster of distant farm buildings, executed in oil onto board and dated 1959.

A solitary structure - possibly a barn or haystack - anchors the composition, subtly drawing the eye while preserving the painting’s overall sense of stillness and space. The foreground is rendered in darker, earthy tones, gradually giving way to lighter, muted fields that lead into an expansive, softly washed sky.
