This incense burner (koro), crafted in the shape of a traditional sailing vessel, possibly dates from the early 20th century. It has a removable top with an openwork design to allow smoke to escape when used for burning incense. The sail features embossed Japanese characters.
Measures about 3½" × 2¼" × 4¼", bronze has a patina. Good vintage condition.
