This vintage Anton Reiche sitting Easter Bunny mold features a highly detailed textured fur pattern in a classic sitting posture, typical of late 19th and early 20th century European or American designs.
Believed to be made of tinned steel, the bunny bears the mark “Anton Reiche, Dresden Germany” along with two clips, one stamped “Made in Germany.”
Anton Reiche refers to Frederick Anton Reiche (1845–1913), a renowned German entrepreneur who founded one of the world’s most important chocolate mold factories in Dresden in 1870. This mold, numbered 24214, was likely manufactured between 1927 and 1939, as molds in the 24000–25000 range are consistently dated to that period. The “30” mark after the manufacturer’s stamp likely indicates a production year of 1930.
