Fine and elegant vintage Japanese 4-panel painted Byobu (folding screen) depicts Landscape with Egrets, Blossoming Sakura and Sparrow. Yamato-E Style. Unsigned. Watercolor, ink and gold powder mist on paper. Silk brocade border. Lacquered black wood frame with beautifully engraved copper corners and medallions. Paper on back. Label on frame. Original metal hangers are included. Japan, Showa Era, circa 1950-1960s. Very Good condition - minor age wear to the painting with a small water stain at the lower right corner, some age wear to the frame, two small repairs on paper back, strong hinges, clean, sturdy.
