This exquisite piece features a breathtaking spherical silhouette adorned with textural prunts and captivating air bubbles. The iconic design brilliantly reflects light and is the perfect scale for a dining table or centerpiece. A similar Ercole Barovier vase is featured in a book publication on Italian glass, a copy of which is included. Sourced in Italy, 1930s. Ercole Barovier made a lasting impact on Italian modernist glassmaking with his vibrant colors and innovative techniques. Born in 1889 on the Venetian island of Murano, renowned for its glassmaking tradition, Barovier initially pursued medicine and served as a radio operator in World War I before joining his family's centuries-old glassmaking business. Barovier invented the colorazione a caldo senza fusione technique, introducing metals and oxides into glass. His work, characterized by bold colors and forms, included sculptures, table lamps, and mosaic pieces that showcased glass's ability to refract and filter light. His creations earned international acclaim and numerous awards, including honors at the Milan Triennial exhibitions (1933, 1954), the Paris Universal Exhibition (1937), and the Compasso d'Oro (1956).
