A vintage ratcheting floor lamp in the style of Frances Elkins, featuring a solid, turned base and an adjustable vertical shaft with a functional ratchet mechanism. Crafted with an Arts & Crafts influence, the lamp is designed with carved notches along the stem, allowing the height to be raised or lowered and locked into place. 
The form is both practical and sculptural—combining early American simplicity with refined craftsmanship. The column is typically finished in a warm wood or patinated tone, with a candle-style socket and traditional shade, reinforcing its classic, old-world aesthetic. 
This style of lamp dates to the 1930s–1940s era and is often attributed to designer Frances Elkins, known for blending rustic materials with elevated interior design. The ratcheting feature is a defining characteristic, originally intended for adjustable reading or task lighting. 
Fully extended is 63 inches height, lamp at lowest height setting is 49 inches.
Shade measures 19 inches at bottom, 12 inches tall, 8 inches at top.
