Julius Shaier ( 1910 - 2000 ) was an American Modernist artist associated with the historic Provincetown art colony community in Massachusetts. He is known for his atmospheric, moody, Abstract landscapes, seascapes, and moonscapes. Working as an artist since the 1940's, the Abstract Expressionist style artworks often capture coastal scenes, trees, and abstracted Provincetown environments using techniques like impasto and saturated color palettes. The captivating art works of Shaier are characterized by bold, sometimes emotional, use of color and texture, captivating the specific light and atmosphere of the Cape Cod area.

The rare vintage original one of a kind Modernist painting s hand signed and dated by the artist on the reverse back side of the canvas in the upper left top corner, it i also hand initialed by the artist on the front side of the canvas in the lower right bottom corner.

The framed Abstract Expressionist painting measures 23 3/4" W X 28 5/8" H X 2" D. It is custom framed in a Contemporary Modern charcoal gray stained oak wood minimal profile deep sided museum box style floater frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.

It is in excellent condition. The painting is in excellent vintage condition consistent with age, light signs of handling, and some light minor wear.
