Her paintings are sold in New York by George Jensen, W. and J. Sloane, and R. H. Macy & Co., one reproduction alone having sold more than 25,000 copies. Mrs. Rae’s husband, an amateur gardener, raises the flowers in their Grand View garden which she uses in her striking and popular paintings.
The dancers are arranged across the width of the canvas in a loose, dynamic line. The brushwork is loose and textured, giving a sense of movement and energy rather than precise realism. The figures are somewhat abstracted, with emphasis on gesture and form over fine detail.
