Two are by studio artist L.W. Joy and were all created in the early 2000's and are turned from two exotic hardwood species. They are the two smallest in the collection, have a soft hand feel and are expertly made. The taller of the pair has a carved screw-type top, while the other has a well-fitted pull-style top.

There is a cylindrical hardwood box with a rim detail. The box is a great size and would be lovely for any number of items. It is large enough to tuck away a set of keys on an entry console, or hair clips on a vanity, etc.

The marquetry box is exquisitely made and features a lovely, and well-functioning, tambour sliding cover. It has a red felt liner and is perfect for a desktop storage spot for business cards, index cards, or other small paper notes, etc. This Japanese Yosegi Zaiku puzzle box, also known as a Himitsu-Bako (secret box), originates from the Hakone region of Japan. It features intricate geometric marquetry made from various naturally colored woods.

The largest box in this collection is a hinged, hand-carved box with a naturalist theme that features a bird with a full wingspan, as well as some geometrically carved elements that seem to reference lush flora and fauna. See less
