This mixed set of eight early to mid twentieth century wooden textile quills features several different turned forms used in weaving and textile production. The pieces display a range of warm wood tones from honey to darker brown with visible patina from workshop use. Textile quills like these were used to hold thread inside loom shuttles and are now commonly collected as examples of early industrial fiber tools. Lengths range from about 10" to 13".
Designer’s Note
The varied shapes and tones make this set particularly appealing for display in a basket, bowl, or studio shelf where the sculptural forms and aged wood patina create a layered industrial textile look.
