Reflect the spirit of an old Shaker farmhouse kitchen when the cream was manually agitated into butter. The Shakers were excellent tinsmiths as well as woodcrafters. Also known as a plunge churn, it is completely hand soldered with folded edges. Has two strap handles. The dasher handle is made of cherry wood and the base is oak. The size is small enough to sit on a counter. In excellent condition with period wear and patina consistent with age and use. There are two soft shallow indents, one handle is bent but usable and the dasher base has some minor splits. Some rust oxidation on tin base but no corrosion. No serious damage or repairs.
