Beautifully hand painted with a European fox hunting scene featuring riders on horseback, hounds, and countryside landscape to the center.

Surrounded by an ornate cobalt blue ground with heavy gold gilt scrolling leaf and floral border. Exterior decorated with continued gilt scrollwork over cobalt. Raised on three feet, giving it a classic open console or display bowl form.

These bowls were made for export to European markets and commonly featured fox hunt scenes, reflecting Western subjects interpreted through traditional Chinese porcelain techniques. Associated with Qianlong period designs (1736–1795) and produced in the same tradition into the 19th and early 20th century. See less
