Antique Victorian Oil on Canvas Marsh Scene of Stork Delivering Baby, Circa 1880s. Folk rendering of a popular Victorian motif - a stork delivering a baby to a nearby home. This anticipatory scene is set within a marsh with a modest house visible in the distance. Looming large, the stork’s presence occupies most of the painting with an infant depicted almost in miniature, adrift on a lily pad in placid waters. Lush, tall marsh grasses frame the work against a wash of blue skies and sea. Unsigned.
