The exaggerated head, upright stance, slender tail and densely patterned surface give the piece the distinctive sculptural character associated with Indian tribal metalwork.

Likely produced using the traditional lost-wax casting method associated with Dhokra metalwork. The dark aged surface retains areas of warm reddish-brown and verdigris-toned patina, emphasizing the hand-worked details and individual character of the casting.

A particularly decorative example with strong presence despite its compact scale. See less
