Offered is a 1970s hand-thrown pottery speckled glazed weed pot signed by Northern Californian artist Roger Butler.
The handcrafted studio piece features a bulbous body, narrow neck and expertly turned lip. Speckled body features an oatmeal and rust glaze.
It measures: 4.75" W x 5" H, has a flat round base that is 1.5" in diameter, and a small 0.25" mouth for cut stems or weeds.
Roger Butler was a highly regarded potter whose Feather River studio flourished from 1976 to 1986. Known for blending traditional techniques and creative designs, he left a lasting legacy in the pottery world, continuing his craft with Fire in the Sky pottery until his passing in 2020.
