An exceptional dome top wood leather wrapped trunk with amazing nailhead decoration depicting florals & birds. Dated 1663 within decoration. Sitting above oak 4 legged stand with pegged construction. Measures overall 36”x45” x24”. Interior having 2 fabric lined fitted removable trays. Interior in almost immaculate original condition. Exterior in very good original patina for its age. Hand forged iron handles and lock all intact. Probably of French origin. Just acquired from a significant private collection. 1st time offered for sale.
