Made in the wonderful decade of the 1950’s , this item is Half-Mile Ray spotlight manufactured by The Portable Light Co., Inc..
• Voltage: It is designed for 12-volt systems. Unfortunately, it needs to have wiring placed in it as it had been removed.
• Bulb Type: It requires an R-12 bulb now but that could be changed to a more common modern type.
• Usage: These were commonly used as searchlights on boats or emergency vehicles. We have had it sitting in our family room as a conversation piece. If it had wiring we could have used it to call our kids home at night like the bat signal.
It’s made of durable brass underneath a chrome coating. Nice and shiny!
The mounting box on the bottom can be removed and the light mounted to a tripod or any other suitable stable surface.
The spotlight with the base weighs in at 18.5 pounds. It is 21 inches in height and 9 inches at its widest. The base itself is 6.5 inches by 4.75 inches.
